The Magpie Trail -
A Modern Pilgrimage

Magnus' parents, Obi and Eva, with a small team of friends and family, faced a massive walking and cycling relay starting from Llandaff Cathedral in Cardiff, Wales all the way to Great Ormond St Chapel, London, England in July 2024. The challenge took place over just 4 days, with over 50 miles being covered each day.

The GOSH chapel was a real sanctuary for Eva and Obi during their life in the hospital with Magnus so they knew they wanted to end the journey there. As Magnus was part Welsh they wanted to start off in the spiritual home of the Welsh Capital, Cardiff: Llandaff Cathedral.

Obi and Eva had lion's share of the milage with the two covering over 79 miles in the 4 days. That's 3 marathon's in 4 days - phew! They walked approximately 26 miles every day - with one rest day - and then friends and family either walked or cycled the remaining 26 miles for that day.

Over £40,000 was raised!
